As we are aware, most colleges and universities are highly reliant (if not solely dependent) on the use of itinerant, part-time adjunct faculty to teach a large percentage of the classes offered. Adjunct faculty members are currently teaching approximately 70 percent of courses being taught, and this has proven to be a financially viable way for universities to exist.
